Hope Alive Leadership Summit Kicks off

By Andrew Onapito

The sixth student leadership summit kicked off today in Hope Alive!’ s Masaka site. The environment was filled with anticipation of what will happen this week.

The first topic of the day was the danger of social media. The students were warned against misusing social media for harmful habits like pornography consumption. The second speaker, Jemima, Mwenge, stressed the importance of being a good steward. She urged the students to use whatever talent God has given them to live a productive life. Drawing from Apostle Paul’s example, Jemima highlighted the need to finish strong.

Besides the teachings, the students had meaningful times of worship. The summit will end on Thursday with a trip to the beach. The student leadership summit is an annual event that brings together Hope Alive! student leaders from the three different sites. Its venue is rotational. Many lives have been touched through this event over the years.
